Before being called to the Bar, Julia practiced as a solicitor and senior associate in Sydney and Melbourne in a national law firm, practising in the media and defamation, intellectual property and information technology and commercial groups of the practice.


Specific Areas of Practice

Julia Baird practices in the fields of intellectual property and trade practices and in equity. Julia practices principally in the Federal Court of Australia, the Patent, Trade Mark and Designs Offices of IP Australia and the Supreme Courts in all States of Australia.

Julia's particular areas of speciality include copyright, designs, patents, trade marks, confidential information, restraint of trade, information technology, licensing, trade practices, misleading and deceptive conduct and marketing law.
